Here's a few things that have been made in our household lately.

I made some crochet bunting. More bunting, I know, it's everywhere. :) I couldn't decide where to put it.

Father's day was a bit of a makers festival. Of course.

Making my way to a happy existence.

Sorry about all of my double posts lately, although I now have a computer I seem to be having trouble getting to it regularly.

Here's what I've been making lately. My crochet skills advanced a little and these are my first 2 squares. Very pleased with myself. They might be a little wonky, but it's a big achievement for me.

On the weekend I made some tin can lanterns to celebrate winter solstice, and we also had an amazing super moon here. Winter nights have been so cold and frosty, but the days are lovely and sunny. 

I made a new hot water bottle cover. I could not survive without my hot water bottle.

Oh and some socks were reunited with the help of the sock matchmaker. Hooray!!!!

 Today I started making Juliet a patchwork doona cover (duvet to some) using a bag of lovely fabric scraps I was given from a Mum at school. This was me cutting and laying out the pieces.

Also today, Little A and I made a countdown calendar for his birthday in 2 weeks time. He wrote in the numbers himself, and look what he got to do today.

It's cold, and I'm not a lover of cooler weather, so I have to add even more colour to my life to make up for it.

Days 14 and 15 in my vintage/op shop/ handmade challenge.

Here's what I wore.

Day 14 - Tunic made by me from vintage fabric, skirt refashioned from old t shirt and op shopped skull leggings. Winter has arrived in Strathfieldsaye.

Day 15 - Vintage dress, belt and shrug. Shoes refashioned by me. I've got a bit of Monday blues though, so I might pop my pjs back on soon.

This past week.

My computer is completely dead! Or it could be in a coma. Time will tell, but for now, it was no life. This past week I've made some stuff though, and found some treasures. I'm blogging from the iPad so I will do the best I can.

I did my first crochet stitch, a chain stitch. Going to attempt another one tomorrow. I find it really hard trying to follow instructions being a leftie, so it was a bit frustrating.

Something really weird happened to me. I woke up last Wednesday morning dreaming of a red chenille blanket from the 70s. It left a big impression on me and I had no idea why. I had a busy day that day but was walking past an op shop so I went inside and there it was. Exactly the bed spread of my dream, and only $1. I had to get it and I'm still reeling a little from how strange the experience was. Here it is with a couple of other things I picked up.

I found a couple more suitcases to complete my stack. Dylan liked it. How cute is he in his electric blue velvet pants? I made these when Aidan was the same age.

I used a free postcard to make cute earrings and a pendant. I love them!

I made these for Little A using the 2 quilts pictured above.

And I found this super cute coffee mug at the op shop on Saturday morning. It makes me smile.

Juliet and I made some more earrings together. Hers are the cute birds, mine are the sewing machines.

And lastly, a skirt with some vintage lace, and a t shirt with 2 transfers for the little girl of a friend. All in a weeks work. :-) What have you all been up to?

What I've been making this week.

When I week goes by in my crazy manic life without a blog post, I do get a little anxious, knowing how much I've done in that time, and that it can be really time consuming trying to condense it into a blog post or two.

So here are some things I've been making this past week.

A purse for my sister in law, using some of my vintage fabric.

A card, also for my sister in law, using random things I found.

I am working on doing up a desk for Juliet's room. I got the desk for free and was also given some leftover paint. It's a work in progress, and not working out entirely as I had hoped.

A family portrait we made yesterday.

And here I am with my babies yesterday, mother's day, when Mr Crafty had to work.

More posts to come, but at least I've made a start now.

A purse workshop

On Saturday I took some time for myself and attended a kiss clasp purse making workshop at a gorgeous little shop in Bendigo called View Point Gallery. (http://www.viewpointgallery.com.au/)  If you are ever in Bendigo please drop in and look at the beautiful handmade items they stock there. It's part gallery, part shop, and 100% awesome.

 I had lots of fun and made a gorgeous purse with some of my vintage fabric.

As it turned out I was the only one in the workshop, so I had my own private tutor. It was a lovely couple of hours spent sewing, chatting, learning and drinking cups of tea. Here's a little sample of what I got up to.
