Recent op shopping adventures.

Here are some of my recent op shop finds. Most of these I found when we were on our family holiday.

Firstly, a couple of awesome vintage chenille quilts and fantastci condition. I love the pattern.

And some stocks to make some more bird feeders and cake stands. Or just have a tea party.

Mr D fell in love with this strong woman. From the free toy box out the front.

A 50s chair that matches perfectly with Nan's table. Needs a tiny repair.

And a free couch and 2 armchairs for my outside undercover area. I love these. So old school comfortable and very well looked after.

Just had to do some shuffling in my kitchen to fit the new plates in.

Latest Thrifty Goodness

The op shop gods have been looking favourably upon me lately and I've been lucky enough to score some pretty fabulous goodies.

The first two pics are some garage sale finds for $1 each. I already have a smaller one of these casserole dishes that used to be mum's, but this is the perfect size for my little people who are big eaters.

This vintage green Tupperware container is awesome! I have two tall ones that match it that I use for my flour, so I was pretty happy when I found it. I've been looking for a water jug for ages too. This apple one was too cute to pass up.

Fabulous overnight bag for the nostalgic among us.

A vintage suitcase in a gorgeous green. We all know how much I love vintage suitcases.

And you know how I feel about canisters. Imagine my joy when I spotted these lovelies.

Yes, someone is definitely looking down on me from up there, and I think I know who it is. ;)

More very exciting news to share in the next few days. 

And lastly, a bit too dainty for clumsy me, but I bought this tea cup set for a friend for her birthday next month. So pretty.

The sun is once again beginning to shine, spring is in the air, and my heart is singing a little happy dance.

Thrifting while on a mini break.

Last week my husband was travelling interstate for work, and, needing a winter escape, we decided at the last minute to join him. We went to Adelaide for 4 nights, and, of course, I had to partake in some thrift (op) shopping. Went a bit crazy really.

With the kids, we scored all this in one shop. I gave them a little budget. Converse boots for the baby of the family.

Boots. $5. I'll be very tall in these. :) Never worn.

New Vans for the green obsessed one in the family. $3. Really? So cute. 

2 vintage towels.

Terrible weather, but managed to buy this beautiful vintage Welsh wool cape. So warm.

Someone loves their new pirate game, but wouldn't stay still long enough for a proper photo.

A fell in love with this vintage curtain, which will be featured in a post once I get a chance to write it. It's gorgeous!

It was fun to have a crazy shopping spree, spend not much at all, and bring home a whole other bag full of loot.

What I've been thrifting lately.

Here's what I've been finding at the thrift shops lately.

Awesome vintage tea towel. Unused as far as I can tell. It's my colours! Not sure if I want to use it make something out of it. I'm not much of a dishes dryer.

Vintage footy jumper for the little Pies supporter in the family.

Fab vintage foot stool that is going to be recovered by me in either a vintage fabric or yarn.

Another vintage tea towel. This one has been sewn into a bag to hold plastic bags. I remember that was a thing in the 80s.

Old wooden box.

Books. Childhood memories. I loved Judy Blume, and Nancy Drew.

I've been having some fossicking fun as usual. Have you found anything good lately on your thrifting adventures?

Things that make me smile.

Ok, so I've been op shopping again (blush), but there was lots of goodness to be found. You know how I love colour and fun, so here's what I picked up last week.

I needed a pot for soup, and how could I resist this? $5, and definitely something to make me smile during the cold winter months.

A willow canister (now my biscuit jar). I wasn't really sure if I loved or hated this, but I was very drawn to it, and couldn't resist it for $2.

Another happy glass, just 50 cents. I love it lots and lots.

Lastly, another granny blanket. Someone went to all that work. The kids love it. ($3)

So that's $10.50 worth of goodness there. Shared, treasured and enjoyed. :)
