This past week.

My computer is completely dead! Or it could be in a coma. Time will tell, but for now, it was no life. This past week I've made some stuff though, and found some treasures. I'm blogging from the iPad so I will do the best I can.

I did my first crochet stitch, a chain stitch. Going to attempt another one tomorrow. I find it really hard trying to follow instructions being a leftie, so it was a bit frustrating.

Something really weird happened to me. I woke up last Wednesday morning dreaming of a red chenille blanket from the 70s. It left a big impression on me and I had no idea why. I had a busy day that day but was walking past an op shop so I went inside and there it was. Exactly the bed spread of my dream, and only $1. I had to get it and I'm still reeling a little from how strange the experience was. Here it is with a couple of other things I picked up.

I found a couple more suitcases to complete my stack. Dylan liked it. How cute is he in his electric blue velvet pants? I made these when Aidan was the same age.

I used a free postcard to make cute earrings and a pendant. I love them!

I made these for Little A using the 2 quilts pictured above.

And I found this super cute coffee mug at the op shop on Saturday morning. It makes me smile.

Juliet and I made some more earrings together. Hers are the cute birds, mine are the sewing machines.

And lastly, a skirt with some vintage lace, and a t shirt with 2 transfers for the little girl of a friend. All in a weeks work. :-) What have you all been up to?

  1. Strange how that dream played out...try dreaming of finding a cache of loads and loads of money, eh? I do have to ask, tho: Why did you cut up the red bedspread once you found it? I take it you didn't want to use it as a bedspread, lol. Anyway, the new trousers are cute, and Dylan looks cute in the blue velvet. LOVE the stack of suitcases, btw.

Also love the earrings and pendant. Please tell Ms. Juliet that I adore her bird earrings, ok?

Lessee, I've been working, drawing zentangles, reading, and re-learning how to play the piano, but on a 66-key electronic keyboard. I've actually ordered beginner's lesson books with some other music, that's how rusty I am. 'Tis ok, tho, I'm lovin' every minute of practice!

Sorry about your computer, and hope you can either get it fixed or replaced.

    1. You've been very busy Joyce. Playing keyboard sounds amazing. Oh the transformative powers of music. Reading would be lovely too. I used to read all the time but now I'm too active and can't relax. I'm about to start a yoga class to see if I can re learn relaxing.

I will pass on to Jules. It was a different choice for her. The reason I cut up the quilt, which is not evident due to condensing of post, is that it was very old and worn and most is really thin and faded so not useable. So I feel like it was meant to be something warm and comforting somehow, so I thought I would add a little bit of that warmth to a few projects.

  2. I hope the yoga helps you. It's so important to be able to relax, and to have some "me" time in our lives. My kids are grown and out of the house, but I still have a job, so i still need that relaxation and me time. You need it worse, tho. Four kids, a husband, and a house are about six fulltime jobs rolled into one. Swimming would also be a good relaxation technique. One day, tho, all your babies will be grown and out of the house, and there will be time to relax then. Well, maybe not: Grandkids, lol! Good luck!

    1. Thanks. I do make time for me, it's just lately I have so many things to make and plan that I keep doing it until I drop at about 1am! I do say I'll sleep when I'm dead, but lately I'm at the point of tears because I can't stop. Even though I am doing what I love. I'm a nutter!! :-) A happy one though. Unfortunately there are no indoor pools nearby. Zentangles sound like they would be relaxing.

    1. Thankyou. Very easy. The necklace is a scrabble tile and I must discovered an even easier way to make these, and the earrings you just buy the plain earring and glass dome and glue your image then glue to dome over the top. I'll post pics next time I make one.
